BIOGRAPHY
Kim Jisoo (김지수) was born on January 3, 1995 in Gunop, South Korea. She has an older brother (Junghun) and an older sister (Jiyoon). As a child, Jisoo had many interests. She practiced taekwondo and wanted to become a writer or painter. She attended the School of Performing Arts in Seoul and joined the Drama Club there. In 2011, Jisoo took part in an audition for YG Entertainment and was subsequently accepted as a trainee.
Over the next few years, she worked as a model and appeared in music videos. Jisoo was featured in Epik High's “Spoiler + Happen Ending” video in 2014 and in Hi Suhyun's “Im Different” video. In 2015, Jisoo even made a brief guest appearance in the K-drama “The Producers”.

Blackpink is a South Korean K-pop girl group that was launched by YG Entertainment in 2016 and has been taking the world by storm ever since. The four members - Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa - are not only singers, but also fashion icons and entertainers who are leading the K-pop wave.

Jisoo is the oldest member of Blackpink.
She and the youngest Lise are separated by about two years. Jisoo began expanding into other areas early on. In 2017 and 2018, she hosted the music show Inkigayo and in 2019, she took on her first major acting role in the Korean series “Arthdal Chronicles”. This makes her the only member of Blackpink with a career as an actress to date.
SOLO CAREER
In 2023 gab Jisoo endlich ihr Solo Debüt mit dem single album “Me” inklusive dem Titelsong “Flower” und dem B-Side Track “All Eyes on Me”. Es toppte den Circle Album Chart und wurde in der ersten Woche über 1 Millionen Mal verkauft. Das ist nicht nur ein enormer Erfolg für Jisoo, sondern auch ein bedeutender Rekord in der K-Pop Branche. “Me” ist das erste Album einer koreanischen Solokünstlerin in der Geschichte, das die Millionengrenze durchbrochen hat!
In addition, Jisoo is now also a successful actress. She made her acting debut in 2015 with a guest appearance in the K-drama “The Producers”. After more guest roles and a major appearance in the historical fantasy series “Arthdal Chronicles”, she finally got her first leading role in 2021! In the series “Snowdrop”, she played a student in 1987 who falls in love with a North Korean spy. Jisoo even won the “Outstanding Korean Actress” at the Seoul International Drama Awards for her performance.
In December 2023, YG Entertainment confirmed that Jisoo and the other members of Blackpink have not signed new contracts for their individual activities. YG is still in charge of Blackpink's activities as a group, but individually the members have joined other agencies. Jisoo officially founded her own label “BLISSOO” in February 2024

Even before her debut, Jisoo was a sought-after model and worked for renowned brands such as LG Electronics, Samsonite and Nikon. With her breakthrough as a member of Blackpink and the global success that followed, her popularity continued to grow. Jisoo is particularly well known for her long-standing partnership with the cosmetics brand Dior. On the occasion of her 28th birthday in January 2023, Dior even released a new lip gloss in her honor in the color “031 Strawberry”. Jisoo is also regularly featured on the covers of well-known fashion magazines such as “GQ Korea” and “DAZED”.
