These days, it's almost impossible for a K-Pop fan to miss anything when it comes to the global sensation BTS. So you surely know that the popular boy group travelled to Washington DC to discuss hate crimes against Asians with Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America.
Since last year, the integration of Asians has been a topic that is receiving more and more attention, as violence and discrimination against them in America keep increasing.
As we all know, BTS has spoken out on politics several times before, and the members were even named Special Presidential Envoys of the Korean president to raise awareness among future generations about global issues such as sustainable development and to strengthen the nation's diplomatic power in the world. When it became known that BTS had been invited to Washington by the White House, fans were certain that the group would do a great job.
Yesterday, BTS briefly had the chance to speak at a press conference and thanked Joe Biden for the opportunity to advocate for this important issue. RM said it reminds them of what they can achieve as artists with their influence. Just a few years ago, hardly anyone could have imagined that a K-Pop band would speak about politics in front of the whole world.
