FIFTY FIFTY storms the charts with "Cupid" and breaks records!

The four-member girl group FIFTY FIFTY is only a few months old, but already regularly makes headlines! What's the reason for that?
FIFTY FIFTY debuted on November 18, 2022 with the mini album "The Fifty" including the title track "Higher". The album didn't make it to the Circle Album Chart until a month after release, but received positive reviews from critics. The group itself probably didn't expect any particular successes right away either, coming from a small label called "Attrakt" and just at the beginning of their career.
On February 24, 2023, the girl group returned with their first single album "The Beginning: Cupid", including the title track "Cupid", which surprisingly became a viral hit!
Anyone who has been on TikTok in recent weeks has probably already heard the song several times, because the English version - the so-called "Twin Version" - has been running up and down there for weeks. The success is also clearly visible on Youtube: the music video of the debut song Higher has 3.6 million views there after five months. The music video of Cupid has already been clicked 26 million times!
But Cupid is not only making its mark on social media, but also on the international charts. These are the milestones Fifty Fifty has reached there in the last few weeks:
On March 27, "Cupid" entered at number 100 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was the first time the girl group placed on the chart, but it's much more than just a personal record. FIFTY FIFTY is only the fifth K-Pop girl group and the sixth K-Pop group ever to reach the Hot 100! Previously, only Wonder Girls, Blackpink, Twice, NewJeans and BTS have done that.
In addition, FIFTY FIFTY broke NewJeans' record as the girl group that placed in the Hot 100 the fastest after its debut:
NewJeans had only set the record on Jan. 17, when they landed in the Hot 100 for the first time with "Ditto". At the time, NewJeans was about five and a half months old. FIFTY FIFTY was only four months and a few days old on March 27, surpassing NewJeans by one month.
Since then, Cupid has continued to climb every week, reaching #60 very recently (April 19)! This makes FIFTY FIFTY only the third K-Pop group after BTS and Blackpink to enter the Top 60. Furthermore, they are only the fourth group after BTS, Blackpink and NewJeans to stay in the chart for three weeks or more!
FIFTY FIFTY also achieved several successes in the UK Official Singles Chart. On March 31, "Cupid" entered the chart at #96, which no other K-pop girl group has managed to do so quickly after their debut. In addition, only three other K-pop girl groups have previously made it to the chart: Blackpink, Twice and NewJeans.
By now, Cupid has reached number 34 in the chart. FIFTY FIFTY is now officially only the second K-pop girl group after Blackpink to stay on the chart for three weeks.
Cupid rose to No. 9 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart. FIFTY FIFTY is thus one of only seven K-pop groups to have scored a top 10 hit on the chart. The other groups are Big Bang, New Jeans, IVE, Twice, Blackpink and of course BTS.
In addition, FIFTY FIFTY has now reached #5 on the World Digital Song Sales Chart and #13 on Billboard's Global 200 Chart.
FIFTY FIFTY has surprisingly captured the hearts of fans worldwide and attracted international attention! The girl group has a lot of potential, which they will hopefully be able to exploit further in the future. We are excited to see if FIFTY FIFTY will continue to climb the charts in the coming weeks and can't wait to see more from Saena, Aran, Keena and Sio!
By the way, the singers have already announced their official fandom name at the end of February: HUNNIES
The name is on the one hand a variation of "Hundred". The hundred consists of half '50' of the members and half of the fans. But HUNNIES also stands for "Honey", which is an affectionate nickname.
