After 10 years, Bang Yedam has left YG Entertainment!
It has been almost 10 months since Bang Yedam left the boy group Treasure. Since then, fans have been wondering what his future will look like and when he will return to the stage. Yesterday, the singer finally reached out on Instagram and shared some exciting news:
Bang Yedam has left YG Entertainment and found a new agency!
In his Instagram post , he thanked his fans for their support and explained that he has joined GF Entertainment. Besides Yedam, the agency currently only has the boy group Kingdom under contract, which debuted in 2020.
This new move could mean that Yedam will soon return to his fans after his long hiatus, most likely as a solo artist.
He has shown his potential to go solo with his own digital single "Wayo", among others, which was released in 2020:
In addition, Yedam has been releasing covers regularly and enchanting us with his beautiful voice. There are definitely more than a few fans who would like to see a solo album from the talented singer!
The split from YG Entertainment comes as a surprise, as Yedam was at home there for 10 years.
In 2012, he participated in the Korean casting show "K-Pop Star Season 2". Although he was only 10 years old at the time, Yedam impressed the judges - BoA, JYP's founder J.Y. Park and YG's founder Yang Hyunsuk - with his singing talent and even made it to the finals! He placed second behind sibling duo AKMu and signed a contract with YG Entertainment in 2013. There, Yedam trained for seven years until he debuted in the twelve-member boy group Treasure in August 2020.
We wish Yedam all the best in his new home and hope to hear from him again soon!
