Nine months after leaving NMIXX, Jini returns solo!
K-Pop Blog > News> Jini
It's been over nine months since Jinni left the girl group NMIXX. A lot has happened since then: The singer has opened her own social media accounts and signed a contract with a new agency. And yesterday, Jini, who now spells herself with just one "n", caused a stir with teasers for a solo album:
Jini will soon make her solo debut with the mini album "An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove"!
No word yet on when exactly the album will be released, but we certainly won't have to wait much longer for new details! Possibly Jini has already uploaded a spoiler on Tiktok. She has been uploading short dance videos on the platform since July 7. But in her most recent video from September 2, she can be seen in the recording studio, perhaps singing one of her new songs?
The solo debut probably doesn't come as too much of a surprise to most fans. In April, UAP (United Artist Production) announced that Jini had signed a contract. It was also revealed that another agency called Sublime would be working with UAP to manage Jini's activities. So it was only a matter of time before Jini returns!
K-Pop fans got to know Jini in 2022 as a member of JYP's new girl group NMIXX.
NMIXX debuted on February 22 with the single album "Ad Mare" including the title track "O.O".
The girl group had a total of seven members with Jini. In September the second single album "Entwurf" was released and on November 23 the first Christmas song "Funky Glitter Christmas" followed. That was already the last NMIXX project with Jini, because only a few days later, on December 9, JYP Entertainment announced that she had left the girl group for personal reasons. To this day, no one knows exactly what those reasons were. Since then NMIXX is on the road with six members.
We wish Jini all the best on her new path!
