It's been almost a year since Saena, Aran and Sio left FIFTY FIFTY. In less than three weeks, the girl group is coming back with a new album! The group now consists of 5 members: Keena and four new faces. We'll introduce you to the new line-up and, of course, the upcoming album “LOVE TUNE”:
FIFTY FIFTY debuted in November 2022 with the mini album “The Fifty” and experienced a rapid rise in the K-Pop scene. Their single "Cupid" from 2023 became an international hit that went especially viral on platforms like TikTok. Thanks to the success of this song, the group quickly gained worldwide fame and was considered one of the most promising new acts in the K-Pop world.
Despite their meteoric rise, FIFTY FIFTY got caught up in a sudden scandal in 2023 that shook their career. There were legal disputes between the members and their label ATTRAKT over allegations of unfair treatment. Find out more here!
In October 2023, ATTRAKT finally terminated the contracts of three of the four members: Saena, Aran and Sio. The fourth member, Keena, stayed with the label and represented the group alone at the Billboard Music Awards. Already in November, ATTRAKT confirmed that FIFTY FIFTY would continue their activities with a new line-up, including Keena.
THESE ARE THE FIVE MEMBERS OF FIFTY FIFTY:
After several auditions in Singapore, Thailand, Japan and South Korea, ATTRAKT announced in June 2024 that FIFTY FIFTY will return in September with four new members.
The new members were introduced in August: Chanelle, Yewon, Hana & Athena.
Chanelle and Yewon are no strangers to the K-Pop scene. In 2023, they were introduced as contestants on the survival show “R U Next” by Belift Lab, from which the girl group “ILLIT” was formed. However, the two were eliminated and subsequently moved to ATTRAKT.
Hana is best known as a contestant on the survival show “We Kid” in 2016. She even made her solo debut in 2020 with the digital single “Secret Crush” and released a second solo single called “Ghost” in 2023.
Athena was an unknown trainee until recently. She is 17 years old and is therefore the Maknae, the youngest member of FIFTY FIFTY. Keena is still the oldest member. She was born in 2002, which makes her 5 years older than Athena.
Keena is the only original member of FIFTY FIFTY in the new line-up.
The name of the girl group remains, but the fandom name has changed. The fans are now called “Twenty” instead of “Hunnies”.
FIFTY FIFTY - LOVE TUNE (THE 2ND MINI ALBUM)
The second mini album “LOVE TUNE” will be released on September 20 and is the first with the new members! However, fans have already had the chance to admire the new line-up. Two weeks ago, a special live clip was released on YouTube in which the 5 members sing covers of Charlie Puth's “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and leejean's “Secondary Option”. In addition, the girl group presented the pre-release single “Starry Night” three days ago.
The music video has already been viewed over 7 million times and shows that K-Pop fans are eagerly awaiting FIFTY FIFTY's return!
From today, you can pre-order two versions of LOVE TUNE in our shop: “LOVE” and “TUNE”.
Both consist of a rectangular box in which you will find, for example, an 80-page photo book, a CD, an accordion lyric card and a fold-out poster. You can also look forward to one of 5 postcards and a sticker pack consisting of a small PVC pouch and 6 stickers. The highlight, of course, are the photocards! Each album contains one of 5 possible group photocards and 2 of 10 individual photocards.
Of course, all extras differ depending on the version. The postcards, photocards, lyric cards and photo books contain different motifs, and the CDs also come in different colors.
The covers give a little glimpse of the pictures that await you. On the cover of the LOVE version, the members are smiling and holding a cake and colorful desserts in their hands. On the cover of the TUNE version, the members stand with serious expressions in front of a carousel at night. Which cover do you like best at first glance?
SAENA, ARAN AND SION MAY ALSO RETURN SOON:
At the beginning of August, the three former FIFTY FIFTY members signed contracts with the new label “MASSIVE E&C”. MASSIVE E&C is a division of “IOK Company”. IOK Company is home to the girl group Alice and a few solo artists, including B.I (formerly of IKON).
Saena, Aran and Sio are supposed to be active as a global girl group in the future. So it surely won't be long before the three singers release new music as well.
