The Met Gala is one of the biggest fashion events of the year. Every year, some of the world's biggest stars and designers gather in New York to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and open the new fashion exhibition.

Yesterday, alongside international stars like Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth, the K-pop boy band Stray Kids also walked the red carpet. The group has once again made K-pop history!

The Met Gala was founded in 1948 and still takes place on the first Monday in May. It is considered one of the most important and exclusive events in the fashion industry as it provides an opportunity to showcase creative fashion creations and raise funds for the museum. It also serves as a platform for cultural and social discussions about fashion and art. On May 6, 2024, the Met Gala took place again in New York.

FEATURED: STRAY KIDS AND BLACKPINK’S JENNIE

All eight members of Stray Kids walked the red carpet yesterday. The stars wore outfits by designer Tommy Hilfiger. At first they wore long coats, but soon they revealed the stylish suits underneath. The predominant colors were red, white and blue to match the Tommy Hilfiger logo. Golden decorations in the form of flowers underline the theme of the evening: “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashions”.

Stray Kids not only impressed with their breathtaking visuals that evening, but also set a new record: They were the first full K-pop group to be invited to the Met Gala!

Before Stray Kids, a few other K-pop stars were guests at the Met Gala:

These include PSY and Super Junior's Siwon in 2013, Rain in 2015 and EXO's Lay in 2019. Rosé from Blackpink and CL (2NE1) were also the first female K-pop stars to take part in 2021. Last year, Blackpink's Jennie and GOT7's Jackson impressed audiences.

Jennie was there again in 2024, this time in a blue mini dress with a long train from the fashion brand Alaïa.

STRAY KIDS WORLD TOUR IN 2024!

Stray Kids fans were actually looking forward to Stray Kids' appearance on the red carpet last night, but instead the interview with Tommy Hilfiger became an unexpected highlight. The designer spilled the beans and accidentally announced that Stray Kids would soon be setting off on a world tour!

“They are as modern as you can get. They are modern prep, and they are global superstars. They are a K-Pop band from Korea and they’re embarking upon a 40-city tour, and they pack stadiums with 80 thousand people. And they have a wild fanbase all over the world.” - Tommy Hilfiger

Fans around the world sat up and listened at the last words. Because so far there have been no details or official information about a 2024 World Tour. Stray Kids also quickly noticed what Tommy Hilfiger had just revealed. Bang Chan's reaction in particular has been discussed on Twitter, Instagram and Co. since yesterday because it was so funny.

The leader of Stray Kids twisted his face into a shocked grimace. He calmed down quickly, but we're sure he and his members were freaking out inside!

So it's finally official that Stray Kids will start a new world tour this year! And now the whole world knows that 40 dates are planned. We hope Stray Kids will reveal more details very soon. Of course we will keep you up to date!
