Stray Kids sets new standards with the latest record!
For the past three years, BTS held the record for the K-pop album that was pre-ordered the most. Just in April, thirteen-member boy group Seventeen broke that record with their new album 'FML'. Fans, in fact, pre-ordered 4.64 million copies, over 60 million more than Map of the Soul! But last week, that record was broken again:
Recently, JYP Entertainment announced that Stray Kids has cracked the 5 million mark with their latest album ★★★★★ (5-STAR)! With more than 5.13 copies pre-ordered, 5-STAR is thus currently the most pre-ordered K-Pop album in history!
With this, Stray Kids have more than doubled their personal record: the previous album "Maxident" (October 2022) has been pre-ordered 2.16 million times.
In the highly competitive K-Pop scene, pre-orders are an important measure of an album's success. So we are excited to see what other milestones 5-STAR will reach!
According to the Hanteo Chart, fans bought 2.39 million copies on the first day after release. This is way below the current record set by Seventeen's 'FML', which is 3.99 million copies, but it's still an impressive number.
