If you've been on Twice's Japanese social media channels over the last few hours, you've already caught the big news. In case you missed it, here's everything important summed up for you:
Twice's first subunit will debut in July!
It's called MISAMO. The name already reveals who the members are: Mina, Sana and Momo.

The three are often also referred to as “Twice Japanese Line” or “Twice J-Line” for short, since they are the three Japanese members of the girl group. And now the J-Line is finally going to take the stage as a trio!
Since Monday, so-called Opening Trailers have been uploaded to the Japanese YouTube channel, starting with Mina, followed by Sana and Momo:
Afterwards, a short trailer featuring all three together was released as well:
To go with them, Opening Trailer Photos were also published on the Japanese Twitter account, two of each member and, yesterday, two more of the whole trio. There are also already details about the unit's debut.
The first album will be released on July 26, 2023: MISAMO JAPAN 1st MINI ALBUM
The tweet with this announcement also includes a link that will take you to a Japanese website for MISAMO.
Among other things, it reveals that the mini album will contain six songs, including the soundtrack “Bouqet” from the Japanese drama “Liaison: Children Heart Clinic”. You can already listen to the soundtrack, as it came out on January 25; on YouTube there is even a Making Music Video of Mina, Sana and Momo:
In addition, the versions of the album that are currently being printed according to the website are already listed. The choice is big, because there will be a regular edition with CD, a First Press Limited Deluxe Edition with CD and DVD, and three Member Editions (Mina Edition, Sana Edition and Momo Edition), which each also include a CD and a DVD.
It's still a while until July, though. But luckily, Twice fans can already look forward to the new Twice album READY TO BE on March 10. You can currently pre-order it in our shop! So the time until MISAMO's debut will surely fly by.
The first subunit after more than 7 years in the business!
The first subunit comes seven years and nine months after Twice's debut on October 20, 2015. Last year, the first member of Twice also made her solo debut. On June 24, 2022, Nayeon presented her first album IM NAYEON.
While many groups disband after seven years, Twice is now reaching new major milestones. A sign that the girl group will stay with us for many more years!
We have been hoping for a subunit for a long time and are overjoyed that it's finally coming soon. Will there be more units in the future? What do you think? Which members would you like to see in a unit?
