Will JYP stop producing physical albums in the future?

JYP Entertainment has long been more than just a record label: The label covers all areas of the music industry, from music production to distribution, marketing and concert planning. With success. According to the full ESG (environment, social, governance) report, it seems that JYP will be releasing more digital albums and not producing physical editions in the future. In recent years, a wide variety of entertainments have increasingly offered both physical and digital versions of new albums: They call themselves "Nemo", "Digital Code Card", "Platform", or "Kihno" album. Buyers get a very small physical package, just big enough for a photo card or sometimes postcard. In addition to photo cards and other little extras like stickers, these versions include a QR code or number that gives the owner access to digital content: Album information such as credits, songs, photos and exclusive videos.

So will there only be digital album versions of JYP's artists in the future? The reform would affect many popular artists like Twice, Stray KidsandItzy . Fans' opinions about it are divided. Some don't want to part from the photo books and fear that the artists will make less money with the digital albums, while the others appreciate JYP's new eco-friendly approach.

JYP Entertainment would be taking a big risk, but making a statement in return: Our environment comes first!

After all, even if the plans are implemented, collectors probably won't have to give up their passion entirely, because most digital albums still come with photo cards.

In the future, JYP would like to produce these photo cards from environmentally friendly materials. This also applies to all other fan articles of artists of the label. They are to be produced more sustainably. JYP also wants to focus more on reusable fan articles.
