About Golden
Since the film's release, every song on the soundtrack has taken over social media trends and stormed charts around the world. After idols and fans first mainly danced to “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol” by the fictional boy group “Saja Boys,” they turned to “Golden” in July.
Since mid-July, for weeks barely a day went by without a new cover being uploaded to YouTube. The K-pop stars who have recorded the song include Yujin of IVE, Lily of NMIXX, Ryeowook of Super Junior, and Haram and Suhyeon of Billlie, among others.
“Golden” is one of the first songs in the Netflix film and is a crucial weapon for the demon-hunting girl group HUNTR/X in their fight against the demons. It's meant not only to give their fans courage, but also to release a magical energy that makes it possible to banish the demons forever.
The song is about shedding your fears and stepping out of the darkness into the light. Above all, it embodies lead singer Rumi's wish to no longer have to hide. She is half-demon and conceals this secret from both her fans and her bandmates.
The voices behind HUNTR/X are Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey).
