BIOGRAPHY

Lisa was born on March 27, 1997 and was given the name Pranpriya Manobal. However, she changed her name at the age of about 13. A fortune teller advised her that a new name would bring good luck. Since then she has been called Lalisa Manobal, which means “the praised one”. She uses the nick name Lisa as her stage name. In fact, it is not uncommon in Thailand to change one's name, usually in the hope that it will bring good luck or solve problems. Some Thais even change their name several times.

Lisa is an only child, raised by her mother Chitthip Brüschweiler and stepfather Marco Brüschweiler. Her stepfather is a well-known boss with the nickname “Master Chef Marco”. Nothing is known about Lisa's biological father.

Lisa started taking dance lessons at the age of 4 and was a member of the dance crew “We Zaa Cool”, which also included BamBam (GOT7). The crew even won an award at the “LG Entertainment Million Dream Sanan World Competition”. Lisa also competed in singing competitions.

Lisa was a fan of K-Pop artists such as BigBang and 2NE1 and also dreamed of becoming an idol. In 2010, Lisa applied to a YG Entertainment audition and was the only one out of 4000 candidates to make it through. In 2011, Lisa moved to Korea and began her training. She was YG Entertainment's first non-Korean trainee and one of the first Thai K-Pop idols.

During her time as a trainee, Lisa modeled for the fashion brand Nona9on and the cosmetics brand Moonshot. Both brands were founded by YG Entertainment. She also appeared in the music video “Ringa Linga” by her label colleague Taeyang (Big Bang).

On August 8, 2016, Lisa debuted as a member of the four-member girl group Blackpink. The other three members of Blackpink are: Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé. The debut album “Square One” was a huge success: the singles - “Whistle” & “Boombayah” topped both the Gaon Digital Chart and US Billboard's World Digital Songs Chart. It's the start of an unprecedented career!

Blackpink is a South Korean K-pop girl group that was launched by YG Entertainment in 2016 and has been taking the world by storm ever since. The four members - Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa - are not only singers, but also fashion icons and entertainers who are leading the K-pop wave.

• 2023: With over 90 million subscribers on YouTube, Blackpink holds the world record for the most subscribed female music group.
• 2023: Blackpink was personally honored by King Charles III during her visit to London for her global influence and commitment to environmental protection.

Lisa is the youngest member of Blackpink.

From the very beginning, she impressed fans with her strong presence, charismatic face and talent. Her popularity grew with each passing year and reached new heights when Lisa finally launched a solo career in 2021. Today, she is one of the most recognizable K-Pop idols in the world and serves as an inspiration to both her fans and younger idols.

SOLO CAREER

Lisa made her solo debut on September 10, 2021 with the single album “Lalisa” including the title track of the same name. The title “Lalisa” is Lisa's real name. The music video is also based on her origin, as she wears traditional Thai clothing.

At the time, Blackpink was already known all over the world and expectations for the debut were high. Lisa not only fulfilled but probably even exceeded them! The album topped the Gaon Album Chart (now Circle Chart) and sold over 736 copies in its first week, more than any other album by a female solo artist before. Lisa even set a Guinness World Record as the first K-Pop solo artist to hit one billion streams on Spotify.

In December 2023, YG Entertainment confirmed that Lisa and the other members of Blackpink have not signed new contracts for their individual activities. YG is still responsible for Blackpink's activities as a group, but individually the members have joined other agencies. Lisa announced the launch of her own label “LLOUD” on February 8th.

Under LLOUD, Lisa continued her solo career. She created a new TikTok account and published the first teasers for her new single there. Once again, this earned her an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. In just 2 hours and 18 minutes, she gained an incredible million followers on TikTok! On June 28, 2024, the new single “Rockstar” was released, which topped the Billboard Global Excl. Less than two months later, on August 16, Lisa released another single: “New Woman” with Spanish singer Rosalía.

Lisa also appears in various shows. She is particularly well known for her mentoring role in the Chinese survival show “Youth With You”. There she passed on her experience to the trainees and handed out both praise and harsh criticism.

Lisa has also published a photo book entitled “0327” every March for several years. The title refers to Lisa's birthday. The first book was published in 2020, the last so far in 2023. Each volume consists of a collection of photos that Lisa took herself. Her photographs give a personal insight into her life and her impressions.

Lisa has modeled before her debut and has worked with many different brands afterwards. In 2020, for example, she was appointed global ambassador for the French luxury brand “Celine”. In the same year, Italian fashion house Bulgari and clothing brand Penshoppe also chose her as a brand ambassador. Lisa also collaborated with the cosmetics brand MAC in 2021 and released her own collection called “MAC X L”. This includes powder, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow and more.
