About number one girl
“Number One Girl” was released on November 22, accompanied by a music video directed by Rosé herself. The singer wrote the song herself, with support from Bruno Mars, Amy Allen, and more.
It reveals a vulnerable side of Rosé — her insecurity and her longing for validation. The emotional ballad grew out of her habit of reading negative comments about herself online.
Rosé explained that she realized how addicted she had become to approval, and how deeply those comments hurt her. Although she hates this trait in herself, she shares these feelings with her fans through music. The deep insight into Rosé's personal struggles and insecurities makes the song one of her most honest and expressive works.
