Looking back at 2022: A year full of K-Pop concerts in Europe!
We're already in the middle of November, so it's worth taking a look back at the year 2022. For K-Pop fans it was a fulfilling year: we could enjoy countless new albums, got to know new groups like Le sserafim or New Jeans and could witness reunions like the first SNSD album with all eight members in five years.
In addition, 2022 was a year full of K-Pop concerts!
In 2020 and 2021, almost only online concerts took place due to the global Corona pandemic, but this year fans were finally able to cheer on the stars in person again. And not only fans in Asia, but also us in Europe! It's still not a given that a world tour of K-Pop stars will include Europe, but fortunately it's not rare any more either.
In fact, at least 16 different Korean artists have visited Europe this year! The concert season began in April, and since then there hasn't been a single month without at least one K-Pop concert.
Below, you'll find an overview of exactly which K-Pop stars visited us this year. We also checked out which European countries hosted the most concerts, which artist gave the most concerts, and more!
K-Pop stars that gave concerts in Europe in 2022:
April - June: MCND, ATEEZ, Eric Nam, Woosung (The Rose), Yugyeom (GOT7) & The Boyz
July - September: MustB, Kim Woojin, Sunmi, Wonho (formerly Monsta X) & Loona
October - November: Pixy, Jessi, Blitzers, 3YE & Dreamcatcher
In addition, festivals such as KPOP.Flex and K-Pop World Festival took place this year. KPOP.Flex brought the following artists: Monsta X, AB6IX, IVE, Kai (EXO), Mamamoo, (G)I-dle, Dreamcatcher, NCT Dream & Enhypen.
At the end of November and in December Blackpink will also come here as part of their Born Pink World Tour.
For exact dates, check out our article about upcoming K-Pop concerts in Europe 2022/ 2023.
Did we forget anyone? Let us know!
So, including Blackpink, there were a total of 7 female and 10 male artists visiting in 2022. 10 of them are idol groups and the other 7 are solo artists. If we now add in the guest stars from KPOP.Flex Festival, we are at: 10 female artists, 15 male artists, 17 idol groups and 8 solo artists.
What do you think: Will it look similar in 2023?
Which European countries were visited the most?
The top 3 are without a doubt Germany, France and England!
These three countries have been in almost every European tour, often more than once.
But the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and Sweden were also popular destinations. The following countries also enjoyed a visit, even if only sporadically: Finland, Romania, Czech Republic, Italy, Denmark and Hungary.
Was your country included this year? If not, we hope it will be added soon! We can assume that K-Pop concerts in Europe will become even more frequent, so surely 2023 and the following years will be very exciting for all international fans!
Who has given the most concerts in Europe?
The answer is quite clear: Eric Nam
The likeable singer has given no less than 15 concerts in eight different countries from April to June! During his There and Back Again World Tour 2022, he also toured North America for 31 concerts.
In 2nd place is the young boy group Blitzers, which debuted in 2021, with 12 European concerts, followed by ATEEZ and Kim Woojin in 3rd place with 9 concerts.
All others have given 3 to 7 concerts in Europe. The most typical number was 5.
Did you attend any of these concerts? Personally, I unfortunately only made it to the KPOP.Flex festival this year, but would have loved to see Eric Nam live, for example. Who would you like to see live for the first time or again? Tell us!
