Aespa announces a comeback with "Girls" in July!
Last night, an announcement from SM Entertainment sent K-Pop fans worldwide into a frenzy: Aespa will release a new album on July 8!
So 9 months after the first album "Savage", which was released on October 5, 2021, there is finally a sequel!
Of course, Aespa has not been idle since then. The girl group presented a remake of S.E.S.'s "Dreams Come True" in December, participated in SM Entertainment's Winter album "SMCU Express" and Winter and Karina debuted in the supergroup "Girls On Top" in January 2022! On April 23, Aespa sang a previously unreleased English song titled "Life's Too Short" at Coachella, an annual festival in California. This one, we now know, will be included on the new album!
On the girl group's official Twitter and Instagram account, it was announced yesterday (in Korea it was already June 1) that Aespa will return on July 8 with a new mini album called "Girls". But that was far from all! In addition, another song from the new album was teased: Illusion. On Youtube you can find since a few hours an official lyric video for the song and listen to it in full length!
The end of the month will also see the official release of "Life's Too Short" as the second pre-release single. So far, there are only recordings of Aespa's performance of the song from Coachella.
Here's the full track listing for "Girls."
- Girls (Title Song)
- Life’s Too Short
- Life’s Too Short (English Ver.)
- Black Mamba
- Dreams Come True
As you can see, in addition to six new songs, including the two pre-release singles and the title track "Girls," the album features three previously released singles. Finally, you can also get the debut song "Black Mamba" on a CD to take home!
Looking at the success of Aespa's previous releases, the new album is sure to be a hit! We'll keep you posted!
