On May 16, the six-member boy group Astro is finally coming back with new music!
From today, you can pre-order the new album "Drive to the Starry Road" from us!
The last album “Switch On” with the title track “After Midnight”, which earned Astro no fewer than four music show wins, was released in August 2021. That's almost nine months ago now.
But the group wasn't idle during that time. In September, the single “Alive” was released for the mobile app “Universe”, and after that the members were out and about individually. Main Vocal MJ made his official solo debut on November 3 with two songs: “Get Set Yo” and “Valet Parking”.
In January, Astro’s second subunit “Jinjin & Rocky” released their debut album “Restore” and in mid-March the first subunit “Moonbin & Sanha” returned with their second album “Refuge” and the title track “Who”. Eunwoo has been filming a series called “Island” since October, which is due to air this year, and released two soundtrack songs in between.
So fans haven't really lacked anything in recent months, but of course they are especially happy that Astro will soon be performing as a group again! Especially since MJ announced in April that he will begin his military service on May 9. So he won't be there for the release of the new album “Drive to the Starry Road” on May 16. That makes the album a kind of farewell gift.
Drive to the Starry Road
Yesterday a tracklist was published on Twitter, thanks to which we know that the new album will contain 11 tracks including the title track “Candy Sugar Pop”.
There are three versions that not only have different concepts, but also come in completely different formats! They could hardly be more different!
The Drive Version is a blue booklet with a photo of Astro on the cover. At 220 by 295 millimeters, it is by far the biggest of the three versions! Buyers get an 88-page photo book, an envelope, a postcard, a folding postcard, 2 of 24 photo cards and one of 6 CDs. The CD is printed with a photo of one of the six members. Which design you find in your album is random!
Do you like what you see? Before you decide, though, you should definitely take a look at the other two versions!
If you go for the black Starry Version, you get a black hardcover book whose cover shows a starry sky. Inside is an 88-page photo book, one of 6 CDs, a hologram postcard, 2 of 24 photo cards, a photo card frame and a folded poster.
After these two versions, it's already clear how much Astro has prepared for their fans, and the third one is completely different again:
The Road Version is a square, brown box containing a 116-page photo book, one of 6 CDs, a postcard, a sticker sheet, a photo standee and 2 of 24 photo cards.
As you can see, each version has something different to offer; so it would be worth ordering all three as a set! By the way, when you pre-order the album, you can optionally get a poster too!
