Jennie Kim is known worldwide as a member of the hugely successful K-Pop girl group Blackpink, but by now she also regularly makes headlines on her own: Just yesterday she surprisingly announced a new solo single, and today it was confirmed that Jennie will appear in an entertainment show in 2024. The singer keeps taking on new challenges, and we are looking forward to following her along the way!
Apartment 404
Blackpink has of course been a guest on entertainment shows again and again, but they are rarely part of the regular cast. But now fans can look forward to the new entertainment show “Apartment 404”. The show has confirmed that Jennie is part of the main cast!
She will be joined by the actor Lee Jung Ha (Nevertheless), the actor and singer Cha Tae Hyun (Moving) and the popular host and entertainer Yoo Jae Suk. Yoo Jae Suk in particular has already been involved in many successful entertainment shows and is a true crowd favorite. So Jennie has experienced colleagues by her side.
It is not yet known what exactly the show will be about, except that it is set in an apartment. It is scheduled to air in the first half of 2024, so fans unfortunately still have to be a little patient.
Luckily, the new solo single is coming out tomorrow!
You have probably noticed that Jennie posted a poster for her new solo single “You & Me” on Twitter yesterday. Although the announcement came as a big surprise, many fans are already familiar with the song. Jennie has been performing the song on Blackpink’s “BORN PINK” World Tour since the end of 2022!
“You & Me” is Jennie’s second solo single since her debut with “Solo” in 2018. “Solo” topped all the charts, including the Korean Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs Chart. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Jennie can build on her previous successes with the new song!
The single is coming out tomorrow, but Jennie has still uploaded another teaser on Twitter today. This time it is a collage of the singer.
Jennie is increasingly developing into an all-rounder: She not only releases solo music and works as an entertainer, but has also successfully starred in several series and films.
While Jennie is taking new steps in her career, fans continue to wonder where she will be under contract in the future.
The future of Blackpink remains uncertain:
Several weeks ago, the previous contracts of the four Blackpink members with YG Entertainment expired. Since then, various rumors and speculation have been making the rounds, including reports that Jisoo and Jennie have founded their own agencies. However, YG Entertainment has only commented briefly so far. The label keeps stressing that there is no precise information yet and nothing has been decided.
Fans are eagerly waiting for news, since the contract negotiations will decide the future of the beloved girl group. The most important question is: Will Blackpink stay together? By now, all the members have started solo careers and have proven that they are successful on their own, too.
