The album of the year is coming! Jennie’s fans are firmly convinced of it, because the singer announced her first studio album “Ruby” just a few hours ago. In the past, Jennie has conquered the charts all over the world with singles like “Solo”, “You & Me” and “Mantra”, so the success of her first full album is practically guaranteed!
The title “Ruby” is inspired by Jennie’s English name “Jennie Ruby Jane”, which she adopted during her childhood in New Zealand. “Jane” also appears in the album, because that is the name of one of the Photobook versions.
Jennie first used her English name for her acting debut in the HBO series “The Idol” in June 2023. As early as January 2023, she began the process of securing the trademark rights for “Jennie Ruby Jane”. The registration was officially approved in April 2024 and now helps Jennie protect her brand.
Fans suspected that she was preparing for a new solo album, among other things, and they were right: “Ruby” will be released on March 10 and can be pre-ordered starting today!
THERE ARE THREE VERSIONS: ZEN, JANE & CD DIGIPACK
The red Photobook version is called “Jane” and the black one “Zen”.
The cover of each photobook features a photo of Jennie that offers a little taste of the 136 pages inside.
Inside, you will of course also find plenty of extras such as the CD, a ticket, a carousel card, a 7-piece sticker set and a mini poster. As always, the random extras are especially exciting: One of 3 possible postcards and 3 of 7 possible photocards.
In addition to the Photobook versions, you can also get the somewhat smaller CD Digipack version in the shop.
The Digipack case contains a 24-page photobook, a CD, a film photo and 2 of 5 possible photocards.
The three versions are very different, but they have one thing in common: The music! The new album includes 15 tracks, including the latest single “Mantra”. For the songs, Jennie worked with many world-famous names such as Dua Lip, so you can look forward to completely new sides of Jennie!

Despite her almost 10-year career as a member of Blackpink, Jennie has only released 5 solo songs. She made her solo debut with the single album “Solo” in November 2018. But although the success was enormous, it took five years until Jennie presented her own music again. In 2023, the two singles “You & Me” and “One of the Girls with The Weeknd & Lily-Rose Depp” were released. In 2024, two more works followed: “Slow Motion with Matt Champion” and “Mantra”.
Jennie apparently doesn’t need more than that to win over the hearts of fans! Last year alone she won 4 awards at the MAMA Awards and was nominated twice as often. On Instagram, the singer has 86 million followers and her first single “Solo” won the grand prize for “Best Digital Song” at the Golden Disc Awards in 2019.
Jennie founded her own label “Odd Atelier” in December 2023, which supports her fully in her solo career. “Ruby” is hopefully just the beginning!
