NCT's Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo will debut as a new unit soon!

SM Entertainment is once again making waves in the K-pop industry with the announcement of a new unit from popular boy band NCT. We're not talking about NCT Tokyo, although like many others, we were expecting the Japanese unit to be the next NCT project to get underway.

The new unit in question consists of Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo!

This information was revealed by SM Entertainment to Korean news agency Sports W today. Various international news sites have already started spreading the news. However, it doesn't sound like the three will form a whole new unit like NCT U, NCT Dream, or NCT 127. It would be the first time members of NCT have debuted as a subunit.

SM Entertainment asks fans to look forward to the new project in a statement: "NCT Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo are preparing their first debut album together and we will release it as soon as the schedule is confirmed. Please look forward to it."

Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo are especially known for their singing talent. NCT fans undoubtedly can't wait to see what the group's latest project has to offer!

NCT has been making waves since their debut in 2016 with their unique concept - unlimited members and units.

Just recently, however, SM Entertainment announced in a video that the group's infinite expansion will end in 2023 with NCT Tokyo. Earlier plans for NCT Hollywood and units in Singapore and Saudi Arabia, some of which had been known since 2021, were cancelled.

This makes the new trio all the more interesting! SM said in the video that they will support the existing members and it already shows. We can't wait to see more members jump into new activities.

And the new unit isn't even the only NCT album we can expect in the first half of the year!

On February 20, SM uploaded an annual report and in it they announced which of their artists will be making a comeback in the first half of 2023. The report already mentioned the debut of an NCT unit in April, although some may have thought it was NCT Tokyo. May, for one, will see the long-awaited comeback of SHINee , the first since Taemin's return from the military in March. Also, a member of NCT Solo will be making his debut! Exactly who it will be, however, is not yet known.

As you can see, NCT will not be quiet in the future!
