The talented solo artist I.M. of MONSTA X has finally released his new album "Off The Beat" today! The album was released by Sony Music Entertainment and contains six different tracks, including the title track “LURE”.
The songs are a colorful mix of different genres such as hip-hop, R&B, soul and bossa/ Latin, so there's definitely something for every taste!
The album marks another step in I.M’s artistic career, which is characterized by his unique perspective. With each song, he expresses different aspects of his personality: “Bust it" conveys his self-confidence with a powerful trap sound, “X0" is a soft sound that captivates you late at night and “Skyline" has a rhythmic beat and seductive lyrics. “MMI" features confident lyrics in an exotic uptempo melody and in 'nbdy' you are confronted with the emptiness caused by someone's absence.
The highlight of the album is the title track “LURE”. It is an intense mix of vocals, rap and rousing beats.
"Off The Beat" is an emotional roller coaster that invites you to engage with the various themes. I.M’s way of communicating with his fans through his music sets him apart from the crowd as an artist.
I.M started composing and arranging lyrics early on and thus showed his potential as a solo artist.
In 2021, he finally made his solo debut with the album “DUALITY”, which contains five tracks! The music video for his title track "God Damn" has been viewed 8.5 million times on YouTube and has over 15.9 million streams on Spotify. In June 2023, the second album “OVERDRIVE” followed, which reached over 1 million streams within 24 hours of its release!
Although I.M is breaking new ground as a solo artist, he is still active as a member of Monsta X:
Since their debut in 2015, the boy group has won over fans' hearts with their unique mix of hip-hop, EDM and pop and has won numerous awards. Most recently, in January 2023, Monsta X released the twelfth mini album “Reason”. Since then, it has been quiet around the boy band, as most of the members are currently serving their military service. We're already looking forward to their return!
If you haven't listened to “Off The Beat” yet, you should definitely catch up! Which of the new songs do you like best?
