K-Pop bands with their own cartoon characters are nothing new. The best known are undoubtedly the so-called BT21 characters by BTS and SKZOO by Stray Kids. But Astro, Monsta X, ITZY and more have virtual doubles too. Official merchandise is often sold featuring these characters: from stickers, keychains and buttons to plushies!
Recently, the girl group IVE has also introduced their own cartoon characters: MINIVE
MINIVE stands, as you can probably guess, for Mini Ive, because the characters are ultimately nothing more than small, animal versions of the members of the girl group.
Eight days ago, an animated teaser was released on YouTube in which the cuddly characters introduce themselves:
The title alone brings back memories for some fans, because “HAVE WHAT WE WANT” was also the name of the very first teaser with which IVE was introduced a year and a half ago. It is the second video ever on their YouTube channel:
As you can see, the MINIVE teaser is a detailed recreation of the original video, so it was not hard for fans to figure out which little animal belongs to which IVE member.
From today, you can pre-order MINIVE plushies from us in the shop!
They will be released on June 6 and will be shipped from Germany towards the end of June.
We will now introduce the cute animals in more detail so you know exactly which plushies you should add to your collection:
GANGANYI is a puppy and represents YUJIN.
The squirrel DAL-E is the animal version of GAEUL.
You can also tell by the beauty mark under the mouth that the two share.
NAORI is a duck and the counterpart of REI.
The name is derived from Rei’s real name “Naoi Rei”.
The rabbit CHERRY is obviously WONYOUNG.
Fans have been raving ever since MINIVE was introduced about how similar CHERRY looks to the beautiful singer. It even has the same beauty marks!
Then there is also CHEEZ, a little cat with a pink little heart on its cheek. She is the animal version of LIZ, who has a cute dimple on her cheek instead of a little heart.
Finally, there is the pink tiger ERANG-E for LEESEO.
Which little animal represents your bias? Will you get the matching plushie or do you find another MINIVE character cuter? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
The plushies are surely only the beginning. We are curious which MINIVE merchandise awaits us in the future. Next, we are hoping for some cute outfits for the plushies, just like for Stray Kids’ SKZOO!
