Last year, the five-member boy group NU’EST disbanded after 10 years together. Since then, the members have been active as soloists and entertain fans on TV shows, in series and in musicals. Kim Jonghyeon, Baekho and Hwang Minhyun even released their first solo albums at the end of 2022/ beginning of 2023! Now Ren, who has mostly been seen in musicals lately, has announced his first mini album too! It's called Rendezvous and will be released on June 14.
Ren has revealed three different versions, which we're introducing to you today: SEED, SEASON and PLVE.
The two versions SEED and SEASON each consist of a 64-page photobook that contains a CD and lots of colorful extras:
Two out of 20 possible photocards, one out of four folded posters, one out of four instant photos, one out of four wish charms and a sticker pack. The two versions are very similar, but they also offer some variety, because the photobook as well as the CD and the stickers differ depending on the version.
Before you decide on a version, we'll present the PLVE version:
The PLVE version is perfect for everyone who loves photocards and prefers to listen to their music on their phone rather than on CD. It contains one out of eight QR photocards, one out of eight photocards and one out of four standing photocards. The QR photocard is the same size as normal photocards and also shows a picture of Ren on the front. With the QR code on the back, you can access exclusive digital content such as music, photos and videos.
On top of that, every buyer gets one of four possible Mini L holders and a lyric paper.
You can pre-order all three versions at Nolae starting today!
A tracklist for the album has already been published on Twitter. It will contain five songs, including the title track READY TO MOVE.
Ren is of course best known as a member of NU’EST, but many fans only got to know him and his bandmates in 2017 through the survival show “Produce 101 Season 2”, in which the successful project group Wanna One was formed. Ren, Baekho and Jonghyeon made it to the finale, but unfortunately got eliminated there, while Minhyun debuted in Wanna One.
Since then, Ren has continued to perform with the other NU’EST members, was regularly seen on entertainment shows like JTBC Hogu Chart and has built a career as a musical performer. He made his musical debut as the drag queen Jamie in “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”. Most recently, he played D’Artagnan in “The Three Musketeers”.
Ren left Pledis Entertainment, which had been his home since 2012, in March 2022 and signed a contract with BPM Entertainment in May. Besides Ren, the girl group Viviz and the solo artist Soyou (formerly Sistar) also belong to BPM. We wish Ren lots of success with his solo career!
