Rumor has it that another BTS member will soon be starting his solo career! Since BTS began their military service, five of the seven members have already released their own album. Now only two are left: Jungkook and V. Both have shown several times with individual solo songs and covers that they, too, have what it takes to conquer the stage on their own.

About a month ago, V teased a song of his own called “Maybe” and raised hopes for his official debut. Yesterday, however, the Korean news portal Sports Chosun reported that Jungkook will be the first to release a solo album, on July 14. It is said to include an English song, among others!
Big Hit Music has even already responded to the rumors!
A representative of the agency said: “We will make an announcement as soon as the schedule for the release of Jungkook’s solo album is confirmed.” That sounds promising, doesn’t it? Of course, Big Hit kept the statement very vague. It does sound as if Jungkook is really standing in the starting blocks, but we don’t yet know whether it will be as early as July.
As you surely know, Jungkook has presented not only covers but also his own singles in recent years:
The first one is called “Begin” and is included on the 2016 BTS album “Wings”. For that album, all seven BTS members recorded a solo. The same goes for the albums “Love Yourself: Answer” (2018) and “Map of the Soul: 7” (2020). Jungkook’s solo on Love Yourself is called “Euphoria” and the one on Map of the Soul is titled “My Time”. All three songs charted successfully on the Korean Gaon Charts!
Last year, Jungkook released no fewer than three solo singles!
“Stay Alive” came out in February, a soundtrack for the BTS webtoon “7Fates: Chakho”. In June came a duet with the American singer Charlie Puth: “Left and Right”. You certainly can’t have missed the latest release, “Dreamers”, because the single is an official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Jungkook is the first South Korean artist ever to release an official song for the Cup!
After all these successes, a solo album is long overdue! We hope that we can introduce the album to you very soon. How long have you been longing for Jungkook’s solo debut?
