Back in early March, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Stray Kids have finished shooting their new music video and will soon be presenting a new album. We were hoping the boys would reveal more details in April, and sure enough, teasers for the new studio album “5 Star” started appearing yesterday!
5 Star is the third Korean studio album from the boy group, who have released no fewer than 21 albums since 2018: 2 single albums, 11 mini albums, one repackage, 4 compilation albums and three studio albums. Most recently, the first Japanese studio album “The Sound” came out on February 22, 2023.
The two Korean studio albums - Go Live (2020) and Noeasy (2021) - each contain 14 tracks, so we can expect Stray Kids to present 14 brand-new songs with 5 Star as well!
Of course, we're looking forward to more than just new music: new photobooks, photocards and other cool extras are on the way too. 12 varied versions are waiting to be checked out, and that's exactly what we're planning to do! We'll introduce them to you in detail:
STRAY KIDS - 5 STAR ★★★★★ (3RD FULL ALBUM)
Let's start by taking a look at the three Standard Versions: A, B and C. They consist of a 104-page photobook. That's about 20 pages more than in the last Stray Kids albums! The photobook naturally comes with a CD and has a few extras to offer as well: Two of 24 possible photocards, one of eight OOTD mini posters, two sticker sheets and a cartoon postcard.
Want more? Then you should definitely order the album before its release on June 2. There are two more Pre-Order extras: A folded poster and a 16-page B-CUT Film mini photobook! There are three different mini photobooks. Which one you get is random.
STRAY KIDS - 5 STAR (★★★★★) LIMITED VER. (3RD FULL ALBUM)
As so often, Stray Kids have also prepared a Limited Version. It's actually very similar in design to the Standard Versions: Buyers get a 104-page photobook, a CD, two of 24 photocards, one of eight OOTD mini posters, two sticker sheets and a cartoon postcard.
And here too, everyone who pre-orders the album also gets a folded poster and one of three B-Cut Film mini photobooks (16 pages).
But that's not all! In addition, the Limited Version includes two exclusive extras: One of eight possible Special folded posters and a B-Cut Film postcard!
STRAY KIDS - 5 STAR (★★★★★) DIGIPACK (3RD FULL ALBUM)
Besides the three Standard Versions and the Limited Version, there are also eight Digipacks, one for each Stray Kids member. Perfect for anyone who wants a little more of their bias! You can choose the version yourself, so nothing is left to chance!
Each Digipack consists of an almost square paper sleeve containing a CD, a 24-page photobook and a lyrics poster. On top of that comes a mini folded poster that was personally decorated by Stray Kids, and of course a photocard can't be missing either. Each album contains one of eight possible photocards. If you order the album before June 5, you even get an additional photocard, also one of eight possible.
The sleeve, the CD and the photobook are all designed differently in each version. So buyers of the Felix Version get a Felix sleeve, a Felix CD and a Felix photobook!
It's still more than a month until the album comes out, but Stray Kids will surely fill the wait with all kinds of exciting teasers.
Yesterday the first video for 5 Star was already released on YouTube:
The new album is going to be loud and colorful! How excited are you for it?
