Spring is the season of new beginnings and is often associated with fresh starts and exciting changes. This year, the K-pop industry is no exception, as numerous comebacks from popular artists are planned for the coming months. From girl groups to solo artists - fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite stars.
In recent weeks, for example, the girl group Kep1er and the solo artist Lee Chaeyeon (formerly IZ*ONE) have confirmed a comeback in April. And the boy group Stray Kids are also getting ready. Fans of SM Entertainment artists will also get their money's worth, because SHINee as well as EXO and NCT all have plans for spring.
And that's not all! The list of spring comebacks is getting longer. Today, several 4th generation girl groups are joining in:
Let's start with another SM Entertainment star: aespa!
The girl group released their second album “Girls” in July 2022. According to the CEO of SM Entertainment, aespa was supposed to return as early as February, but the album had to be postponed due to internal disagreements. Today, the Korean news site STARNEWS reported that aespa will return in May. So fortunately, fans don't have to wait much longer for the group's return. The new album will only be aespa's third. Since their debut in November 2020, the girl group has released only one album per year. However, they are also involved in other projects. In December, a music video by aespa with Red Velvet was released for the new SM winter album “SMCU Palace”.
Another eagerly anticipated comeback is that of the up-and-coming girl group Le sserafim:
Even though no details are known at the moment apart from the fact that it will take place in May, we are already looking forward to the new music from the talented group. So far, Le sserafim can look back on two Korean albums - Fearless and Antifragile. In addition, the group recently made their Japan debut. On January 25, their first Japanese single album “Fearless” was released. And Le sserafim still have their first anniversary ahead of them! It arrives on May 2, around the time the third Korean album is expected to be released.
The six-member girl group IVE will also be releasing a new album very soon!
After three single albums, the first full-length album is due to be released on April 10! According to rumors, the singers will give their first solo concert shortly afterwards. With hits like “Eleven”, “Love Dive” and “After Like”, IVE have continuously celebrated success and proven their talent. Expectations for the first full-length album are therefore high, but we have no doubt that the girl group will convince us once again.
IZ*ONE fans can surely barely contain their joy, because with IVE, Le sserafim and Chaeyeon, a full five former IZ*ONE members will be on stage this spring! They are known for still keeping in close contact and even often appear together on variety shows.
So for K-pop fans, spring will be an exciting season full of comebacks from some of the biggest names in the industry.
